With an enthusiasm for children’s publishing, Cherish creates delightful and wholesome child-oriented imagery that illuminates and enriches the lives of her young audiences.

Based on the needs of her clients, Cherish closely integrates her expertise of traditional painting methods and digital prepress technology to supply print-ready, color accurate files. Her conceptual illustrations generally follow a mixed media technique utilizing traditional watercolors, oil paints, pastels, and colored pencils to achieve a unique level of vibrancy.

For ease of use, the images are scanned and fine tuned on the computer in preparation for digital output. Cherish's streamlined workflow reliably meets deadlines, offering clean digital files or beautiful original paintings, in hand and ready for publication.

Cherish happily pursues her love for art at the foot of the beautiful Rocky Mountains with her husband, illustrator Benjamin Hummel. Cherish is an active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, Colorado Independent Publishers Association and is VP of the Colorado Alliance of Illustrators. She upholds all standard practices of business ethics and integrity as described in the Graphic Artist’s Guild Handbook.

Cherish studied illustration, painting, design, and critical thinking at Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design (BFA) and Colorado Christian University (BFA).
